TECHNIQUES
Quality control of measure The separation and the specific counting of the various isotopes of the Carbon allow to control the effects of possible pollutions and to obtain an indication on the "quality" of the sample and the reliability of the measure.
We offer radiocarbon dating with AMS technique (means by accelerator coupled with a mass spectrometry ). Nowdays, It is the best adapted method to establish a reliable chronological sequence due to the very good accuracy of measurment. The datings are possible on wood, charcoals, plant residues or animals, leather, textiles, paper, shells, bones, burned bones, ivory, teeth?
Radiocarbon dating - C14
The control of the "stratigraphical" representativeness of samples Besides, the AMS allows the dating of small-sized individualized carbon fragments (a charcoal = a date), which differs from the analysis of sets averaged by samples (classic counting). Such an approach allows us to work on depositionnal problems of migration of the small objects through the levels, under the effect of phenomena of percolations or the other movements of grounds.
A narrow and effective partnership This offer bases on a scientific partnership between CIRAM and a major laboratory, looking like reference in the international community, in the top of the methodological researches led on the calibration of dates C14, the extension of the limits of the method or the procedures of preparation of samples. It results from this collaboration the guarantee of a "technical" work of an optimal, integrating last innovation.
