Thermoluminescence dating - TL
< Return in Archaeology TL theory > TL dating Vs TL test > CIRAM is the only private laboratory to realise real thermoluminescence dating, with full respect of university developped procedures. For a rigorous scientific action No thermoluminescence dating can be conducted without artefact burial ground radioactivity measurement, preferably insitu and in all cases in laboratory. Absence of this experimental measure invalid simply the result. To ensure the implementation of a scientifically rigorous work and archaeologically relevant, we try to intervene on the excavation site, in order to carry out archaeological material and sedimentary, essential for the dating and measurements of radioactivity An independent analysis Benefiting from two of its members specializing in this area, CIRAM has developed its own laboratory for dating, including equipment for sample preparation, an apparatus of TL / OSL and a radioactivity detector for in situ measurements. CIRAM has developed a scientific partnership with a nuclear research center (University and CNRS), for the analysis of radiochemical composition of materials. Autonomy technology CIRAM, coupled with its high reactivity and high availability, results of TL dating in time from 3 to 4 months. Beyond the datings, CIRAM also undertakes to provide a critical synthesis of the results and to propose an optimal operating archaeological. It follows from these investments, a guarantee of a work of quality, including competencies combined with a cutting-edge instrumentation. Intervention on cotation - Turnaround between 3 & 4 months
