How to analyse an object? Different methods are used according to the materials. CIRAM ANALYSIS offers three approaches adapted to your needs. AUTHENTICITY TESTS (stone, metal, glass, painting) using microanalysis (stereomicroscopy and electron microscope – SEM) provide informations about the chronological compatibility of the object. Our valuation is based on a body of proves, which gathers: - the study of tool marks (fashioning and polishing), - identification of the materials and weatherings (natural or artificial), - revealing of restoration areas. AGE ESTIMATION (ceramics, enamel, porcelain) using thermoluminescence provides a chronological interval of the date of the last firing. DATING using radiocarbon (14C) by accelerator mass spectroscopy (AMS) giving the possibility to date organic materials (wood, bone, ivory).
